Kelp forest at the Umhlali wreck site
- Reef
- Wide-angle
Looking through dense kelp: a heavy foreground stipe, upright stems at several distances and a sandy channel through the centre. Pale bottom, nearby blades, shadowed stipes and distant water lost colour differently.

What FiveMeters recovered
The channel returns to pale sand and rock; foreground stipes recover brown-olive surfaces; broad blades regain yellow-green. Farther stems stay subdued in naturally hazy blue-green water.
Still visible
Crossing stipes and overlapping blades are the original composition. Backscatter, coarse shadow noise and limited visibility deeper into the stand remain.
